Who's Eligible for Kirkwood Workplace Learning Job Shadows? 

Students (grades 10 – 12) in Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, or Washington counties in Iowa are eligible to apply.

What is a Kirkwood Workplace Learning Job Shadow? 

A student job shadow is a way for a student to explore different pathways to help identify a career of interest or careers that no longer interest them the job shadows typically last two to four hours. Students are exposed to real-world applications by going to a business and observing various tasks. 

Ways to explore:

• Career Exploration Days - offer a great introduction to a specific career field and allow you to explore a broad scope of careers within that industry, all in one shadow experience. We recommend sophomores and students who are just beginning their career exploration journey start with Career Exploration Days.

• Specific Career Opportunities - perfect for students who are more certain of their career interest and want to focus only on that career. Priority is given to juniors and seniors.
